Amazing Race Engagement { Jeremy + Amanda }

Words can not describe how adorable Jeremy and Amanda’s engagement story was, but I’ll do my best.

I met Jeremy and Amanda at Decades and we chatted about how they got together, their life experiences and obviously the details of their wedding. Amanda has done some world traveling through missionary work, India being her favorite country and Jeremy spent many years growing up in Mexico as a missionary’s kid. Great match.  Jeremy is the more adventurous one, while Amanda will go along with just about anything. They shared  with me their proposal and I was blown away by  how creative and thoughtful it was, good job Jeremy.

It all started with a knock on Amanda’s door. As she opened the door she was expecting Jeremy to be there , instead she found a red envelope and a stranger named Travis. Travis also had with him a dvd cam to capture the whole adventure! Throughout the day they traveled to different places and with each place came a task and another clue, it was Amanda’s Amazing Race.
To give you an idea of Amanda’s tasks some of them were, completing a Rubiks cube, jumping into the freezing cold Cultas Lake to grab a balloon with a clue inside, leading some songs in worship, preaching a sermon for a half filled Yarrow Church and preparing and eating  Jeremy’s favorite appys Mushroom caps (she HATES mushrooms!)  Amanda, I can’t wait to hear what he does for your ten year anniversary!

After their May wedding I’ll post a video of the whole thing, because you just need to see it!!!

In my husbands words after watching the video, “That was so cute, I’m glad I watched it.” ( I forced him to watch the video) And in my six year olds words ” I want to do that, and with you mommy.”

Thank you guys for sharing the video with us.

Like I already said, words can’t really tell this story in full you will need to come back and check out the video Travis made after their May wedding.

Bridal Falls,  was her check in at the end of the race.

So cute!

I love these white berries… I have no idea what they are called but as kids we called them pop berries.

Beautiful Felt LOVE banner was handmade by my lovely and talented sister ~ So perfect for them!

This one below is one of my faves! I love how throughout the day he had the ability to just make Amanda bust out laughing!!!

You two are perfectly matched!

Loving this one too…

Amanda and Jeremy told me how they love to play this card game and they played it all the time when they first started dating. We were chatting about it at Starbucks at our first meeting and I thought we need to bring it! I noticed when Amanda posted some of these portraits on her facebook that lots of their friends were making comments like “It’s that game you two always play!” I’m so glad  we brought it!

Due {a maternity session}

Esther came to me as a client while she was expecting their third baby, and when she called to announce that number four was on it’s way I was excited to get to photograph them again. Their kids are so adorable! Hope you enjoy looking through these. If you look at Esther’s tummy below you can see the little protruding bump at the bottom left of her tummy!

Our Snow Day {meeting baby Oliver}

Today, looking out the window as beautiful as it was I got pretty sad. I was sad to think we wouldn’t make it in to meet our newest member of the family, baby Oliver. Our nephew was born last night at 1:44am after a long and extensive labour. We headed out early this morning and as we past through Mt Lehman we decided to pull off the next exit and turn around. Passing four cars in ditches already, and facing bumper to bumper highway traffic we thought it just wasn’t going to work out. We found ourselves pulling off the highway at 264, only to start merging back onto it and making a quick choice to brave it anyways! We got a few minutes further out to find clearer skies and less ice on the road. We arrived downstairs at the lobby of the hospital, greeted by Uncle Kyle. Our kids were sooooo excited and adorable as we rode the elevator up to their floor. Inside we each took turns oooing and aweing over this bundle of pure joy! Love you each so much, he is absolutely perfect!!!

Preparing to leave this morning Lincoln was probably the first one ready to go…which may be the first time ever for him! Just look at my boy’s faces here, it was so worth the scary drive, and keeping them “home” from school!

My kids all look so big now!!!

Charlotte was so enthralled with this new momma, (she calls all babies momma’s right now!) when we took him away she threw her teeny body down in a fit! (we brought him back to her)

Proud new daddy!

See, I told you he is perfect!

Cultas Lake {a family session}

A Cultas Lake session. Fun at the Beach, off season style!

I loved this family one below. A framer I’d say… Brooklyn doesn’t like having her photo taken and this one simply tells the story of  ”I’m done already let’s go!”

See the rock, throw the rock…

Declan has some big muscles!

Ok so for me, this one takes the cake…my fave of their session. What a Daddy’s love for his little girl.

The Hooker Family {a family session}

Here is another family shoot from the fall I was waiting to post. Brianna, Rae, and Alex had a good old time running around and just being themselves. They all took a trip to visit Rae’s family in New Zealand for Christmas this year. (that’s a long flight!) I hope you guys had a good trip!!!
